Renaissance commerce moved spices from the Moluccas, silks from China, silver from Potosí, and sugar from São Tomé through the vast covered warehouses of Antwerp, Lisbon, and Venice before dispersing across Europe. This trade warehouse is a purpose-built transshipment hub: goods arrive in bulk, are inspected, repackaged, and dispatched onward. The great trading companies — Portugal's Casa da Índia, Spain's Casa de Contratación — operated their logistics empires from exactly such facilities. In the game it provides the highest storage capacity of the pre-industrial era, generates passive gold income from transit fees, and amplifies the output of nearby trading posts and markets. Control of this building signals a mature economy — protect it accordingly, because an enemy who burns your trade warehouse burns your war chest simultaneously.
