Storage Hut

The storage hut is the first deliberate act of resource stewardship a Stone Age community performs — a squat structure of lashed timber poles, woven bark panels, and packed earth, purpose-built to keep harvested food and gathered materials away from rain, rot, and the teeth of scavengers. Before it existed, surplus was simply left where it fell; with it, a tribe could begin to accumulate. Neolithic sites across Europe and the Near East reveal postholes and charred floor timbers that archaeologists identify as exactly these communal stores. In the game the storage hut sets your initial resource capacity — every food bundle, wood load, and flint cache must fit within its limit. Build a second one early if your gatherers are idle at the end of a run; a full store stalls production just as effectively as an empty one.
