Zero II
Modern Age
FighterSpecialHero capable
The 1943 A6M5 responded to the growing superiority of new Allied fighters like the F6F Hellcat with heavier armor, self-sealing tanks, and a reinforced airframe for higher dive speeds. These concessions to survivability cost some of the legendary agility of earlier variants, but it remained the most-produced Japanese fighter model through the end of the war. In the game it hits harder and endures more punishment than the A6M2, with only a slight reduction in agility.
