Once the Ju 87 had become too vulnerable against modern day fighters, several night-attack groups shifted their remaining airframes to nighttime sorties — flown by experienced crews who approached low and with throttled engines to strike enemy positions under cover of darkness. The improved D variant carried extra crew armor and more powerful engines. In the game this is the strongest stage of the Stuka line, with the highest single-strike damage and the longest range in the entire line.
