B-29 III

The B-36, in service from 1948, was with a wingspan over 70 meters the largest piston-engined production aircraft in history — later supplemented by four additional jet engines under the wings, earning it the nickname 'six turning, four burning'. Designed for intercontinental range without refueling, it was meant to be the backbone of early Cold War nuclear deterrence, able to reach any target on earth from US bases. In the game it is the strongest stage of the B-29 line, with the highest single-strike damage of any bomber and the longest range.
