Panzerfaust
By 1943 Germany faced a simple, terrible problem: Soviet and Allied tanks outnumbered their own, and ordinary infantry had almost nothing capable of stopping a Sherman or a T-34. The Panzerfaust was the desperate answer — a disposable steel tube with a hollow-charge warhead, cheap enough to manufacture by the millions and simple enough that a teenager could be trained to use it in an afternoon. At ranges under eighty meters it could punch through the armor of nearly any Allied tank. Volksgrenadiers, Volkssturm militia, and regular Heer troops alike carried them into the rubble of 1944 and 1945, turning every street corner and hedgerow into a potential kill zone. This unit is an effective short-range tank hunter, capable of destroying armored vehicles that would shrug off small-arms fire, but its single-shot nature and lack of armor make it extremely vulnerable if spotted before it can close to firing range.
