After withdrawing from Egypt, the center of Kushite power shifted further south to Meroë, where an independent ironworking industry arose that supplied the ancient world with high-quality arrowheads and weapons in large numbers. Meroitic archers continued to hold the highest reputation among Greek and Roman chroniclers; Roman campaigns against Meroë in the 1st century BCE record fierce and remarkably accurate archer resistance. In the game this is the strongest stage of the archer line, with the highest damage and longest range in the entire line.
