Janissary III

Janitschare III

Colonial Age Light InfantrySpecialHero capable

The Elite Janissary represents the absolute peak of Ottoman infantry development — a soldier equipped with the most advanced firearms available to any military in the empire's arsenal, supported by the full institutional weight of the yeniçeri corps' centuries of accumulated tactical knowledge. His weapon combines long effective range with the fastest reload time the Janissary line offers, and his personal armor has been upgraded to reflect his elite status within the order. In formation the Janissary III delivers sustained precision fire that degrades enemy formations faster than any standard ranged infantry of comparable cost. He is at his best coordinating suppressive volleys that pin enemy infantry in position for artillery follow-up — a doctrine the Ottoman military refined to a high art. Against cavalry he requires a protective screen, but in a prepared firing position he is nearly impossible to dislodge.
