Wild Boar
Wildschwein
All AnimalPredator
The wild boar charges without warning and hits harder than its stocky frame suggests. Unlike deer, which flee at the first arrow, a boar turns on its attacker the moment it takes damage — and its low, fast movement makes it difficult to keep at range. In dense terrain or forest edges it can close the distance before a lone hunter looses a second shot. A cornered boar is capable of killing even a trained melee fighter if that fighter enters the fight already injured. The upside is substantial: boar carcasses yield some of the densest food returns of any mid-sized prey, making them a valuable hunting target when your settlement needs calories fast. Approach with a melee escort or keep ranged units moving while firing — never let a boar close unchecked.
