T-34 II

In 1944 the T-34 gained an enlarged three-man turret and the far more powerful 85 mm gun, originally developed as an anti-aircraft piece. This finally let it stand up to late Panzer IVs and, in places, Panther variants, without losing the mobility and reliability that had made the T-34 so mass-producible in the first place. Over 35,000 were built, and the T-34-85 remained in service with armies worldwide for decades after the war ended. In the game it hits considerably harder than its predecessor and survives more punishment, while staying just as fast and agile.
