Katjuscha I

The BM-13, deployed on the Eastern Front from 1941, mounted 16 launch rails for rocket projectiles on a simple truck chassis — a design so straightforward it could be mass-produced at many sites almost immediately. A full salvo discharged in under ten seconds, saturating a target area with an explosive weight an equivalent number of conventional guns would have taken far longer to deliver. German soldiers nicknamed it 'Stalin's Organ' for the distinctive howling sound of its launch. In the game the Katyusha BM-13 delivers devastating area damage against massed formations, at the cost of a long reload and little self-defense in close combat.
