Cow Carcass
DE Kuhkadaver
The cow carcass is not a living unit but a resource node — the remains of a slaughtered or fallen bovine that yields a significant quantity of meat when harvested by a worker or hunter. The critical factor is time: carcass meat spoils progressively, and the food value degrades with each passing game turn until nothing remains. A freshly fallen carcass represents excellent nutrition for a settlement, but one left unattended for too long becomes worthless. Workers harvest it the same way they collect any organic resource, but they must be dispatched promptly. Carcasses appear when cattle are killed in combat, slaughtered by raiding units, or lost to fire. Positioning a worker nearby before the animal dies maximizes the yield. Ignoring carcasses wastes a ready food source that requires no hunting effort at all.
