Mudbrick House
DE Lehmziegelhaus
The mudbrick house of the Bronze Age represents humanity's first permanent domestic architecture — a dwelling built to last seasons rather than days. Sun-dried bricks of Nile clay, Tigris silt, or Indus loam, pressed into rectangular moulds and stacked with mud mortar, created walls that insulated against heat by day and retained warmth through cold desert nights. The cities of Ur, Mohenjo-daro, and early Jericho were built almost entirely from such material. Thick walls absorbed summer heat; a flat rooftop became sleeping space and drying rack. Internal courtyards shaded by matting provided ventilation in climates where shade was survival. In the game the mudbrick house expands your population ceiling significantly, unlocking larger worker pools and military rosters. Its construction cost is low relative to the population it houses, making it the most cost-efficient expansion building of the Bronze Age — build it before your production stalls.
