Landing Site
DE Anlegestelle
Before harbors were engineered and quays were built, the first watercraft launched from wherever the bank was low and the current gentle — a gravel bar, a sandy ford, a muddy inlet sheltered from the wind. The Landing Site formalizes that Stone Age improvisation into the civilization's first maritime node. From its crude shore, the earliest dugout canoes and reed boats push off, opening river routes and coastal waters to exploration and trade. It cannot build warships or ocean-going vessels, but it does something more fundamental: it teaches a civilization that water is not a barrier but a road. Establish a Landing Site on any navigable river or coastline to unlock early scouting options and begin accumulating the seafaring experience that more advanced shipyards will later demand.
