# Privacy policy

> What voxeldynasties.com does with your data: as little as possible. No cookies, no tracking, no third-party services.

This site is built to process as little as possible about its visitors: **no cookies, no tracking, no external fonts or scripts**; views are counted on this server only, without cookies. Your browser talks to this server only – until you decide to play the trailer.

## Controller

FK-Onlineservices UG (haftungsbeschränkt), represented by Felix Kempin, Ebbingsdiek 1, 46325 Borken, Germany · report@voxeldynasties.com · see [imprint](/en/imprint/)

## Hosting and server logs

The website runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany, with which a data processing agreement is in place (Art. 28 GDPR). When you open a page, your browser sends technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer and browser identification. They are processed to deliver the page and to run the server securely (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and are deleted from the server logs after 14 days.

## No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies for visitors (except YouTube after your consent, see below) and uses no statistics, analytics or marketing services of third parties. Fonts (Cinzel and Inter, SIL Open Font License) and all pictures, including those of the encyclopedia, come from this server. The encyclopedia's filters run in your browser; the server does not learn what you search for.

## Visitor statistics without cookies

To know which pages are read and where visitors come from, the views of this website are counted on its own server. No cookie is set, no script is loaded and nothing is stored on or read from your device; only the request your browser sends for the page anyway is evaluated.

To tell the visitors of one day apart, this site computes a checksum (hash) from your IP address, your browser identification and a random value that is valid for that day only. It does not store the IP address itself for this. Until the end of the day it keeps with the checksum: the first and the last page you viewed, the number of pages, the domain of the page you came from, a campaign code from the address (such as `?campaign=`), the device type (computer, tablet, smartphone), the language and the country. The country is determined on this server from a file by DB-IP ([IP Geolocation by DB-IP](https://db-ip.com), licence CC BY 4.0); your IP address is not sent to anyone for this. If you click a link to another website (such as Steam), it passes briefly through this server (`/weiter/…`), which only counts how often this link was clicked. On the following day it deletes the day's value and all checksums; what remains are totals only, such as views per page and day, which cannot be linked to anyone. So you are not recognised on another day, and the figures are not combined with other data.

The legal basis is the legitimate interest in understanding the reach and use of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If your browser sends the "Global Privacy Control" or "Do Not Track" signal, only the page view is counted, without a checksum. You can also object to this processing at any time (see "Your rights").

## YouTube trailer (only after a click)

The trailer on the home page is not embedded directly. You first see a placeholder with a notice; only when you load it, or allow media in the consent banner, does your browser load the YouTube player (youtube-nocookie.com). From then on Google Ireland Limited receives your IP address and other connection data and may transfer them to the USA; insofar as Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, this transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision; Google is responsible for this ([privacy policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy)). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). Your choice is stored only in your browser (local storage), not on the server; you can change it at any time via "Privacy settings" in the footer and thereby withdraw it for the future.

## Links to Steam, YouTube and Instagram

The Steam buttons and the links to our profiles are ordinary links. Only when you click one does your browser open the page of the provider (Valve Corporation, Google, Meta), which is then responsible under its own privacy policy, for Steam [this one](https://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/).

## Contact by e-mail

If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We delete the correspondence once it is settled, unless statutory retention periods apply.

## Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). A short message to report@voxeldynasties.com is enough. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW).
